About Me
My name is Alex Quian, and I am on a mission to encourage youth to serve their communities and help them develop personal and professional skills that prepare them to be the leaders of the future.
My mission started after a life changing experience. In summer 2019, my mentor challenged me to complete 30 different service projects in 30 days so I could learn what it meant to serve the community. This initiative, 30 Days of Service, impacted over 1,800 people in the DFW area, worked with more than 20 organizations, and was featured by NBC5, Dallas Innovates, the CW33, the Dallas Observer, and more.
This experience transformed my life and helped me discover my passion for empowering young people. It inspired me to create the Better Together Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to support the holistic development of youth in the areas of service-learning, entrepreneurism, lifelong learning, physical and mental wellness, and professionalism.
Serving the community taught me invaluable skills, and so I have devoted much of my time to sharing what I've learned to help young people become better students, professionals, and leaders.
To that end, I recently published a book, Better Together: How 30 Days of Service Changed My Life. The book shares my experiences and is a practical guide for how anyone can make a positive impact in their community. Throughout the book, I share tips to help young people plan their own service projects, as well as develop personal and professional skills. To learn more, please click here.
I am also working with organizations to deliver presentations and workshops about a number of topics inspired by my experience, including the importance of service, essential workforce skills, maximizing mentorship, and more.
